Registration and Login

Courses are all FREE but we ask you to register so we can track progress. The first lesson in the SOIL class is OPEN for viewing without registration. We are supported by donors and the County of Maui. If you have not registered yet, please register below.


After you register, in about 15 minutes or less, you will get a registration email with your ID and password. You can login below. Please change your password when you first access the system.

Kumu Mea Kanu: Garden Art Kit (Grades K-1)

Students will learn about the patterns and designs of nature that help plants to grow and thrive! We'll explore the art of seeds, use our senses to experience nature, and come to see how everything is connected, all while learning from the plants we grow. At the end of the project, students have the opportunity to donate their plants back to their Maui community.

Kumu Mea Kanu: Chef Kit (Grades 2-3)

Students will learn about how the food we eat has powerful effects on us and the world we live in. It is our hope that this project will help prepare students to make sound food choices and to consider the significance of how the food we eat affects the health of our bodies, the community and the planet.

Students will learn what it means to live sustainably, and what actions we can take to make sustainable choices in our lives, particularly when it comes to our food.

Kumu Mea Kanu: Hawaiiana Kit (Grades 4-5)

The goal of this project is for students to have an experience growing plants that will enable a deeper connection with their local food system and the ʻāina that supports it. They will learn about the ecological history and status of the islands, traditions of past and present, and growing plants in a way that is in union with nature.

Provide garden-based learning that teachers can incorporate into their classes (remote, blended or face-to-face).

Provide high value video lessons for students that meet science-based standards.

Incorporate what makes Hawaiʻi unique including growing, soil, Hawaiian plants and also incorporates our values and culture.

Give students, whether at home, in classroom or school garden setting, great activities that reinforce the importance of knowing about where our food comes from and regenerative agriculture. We encourage outdoor activities.

Login FAQ

I forgot my password, can you reset for me? Please use the “I forgot my password” on the login page. It is all automated and we donʻt know your password. If needed, send a note to support and our support staff can reset for you however that may take up to 24 hours.

Change Your Password
To change your password, mouse-over the top right area where it says “Howdy, Your Name”. Select Edit Profile. You’ll be taken to a page where about 2/3 down you can reset your password. Make sure to “Save Profile” at the bottom. Then select your browser back button to go back to the page you were on.
Registration FAQ

You need to register using this form. It will take up to 15 minutes for you to get email confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation within that time, please send a note to support and weʻll take care of you as soon as possible.

If you want to enroll all your students, send a list of emails using the support form to right, and weʻll enroll them within 24 hours. You and each student will receive an email confirmation. Note: For Kit activities, students do not need to register.
