Mahalo for your interest in garden-based learning! Courses are all FREE thanks to the generosity of donors and Maui County, but we ask you to register so we can track progress. The first lesson in the SOIL class is OPEN for viewing without registration.

SOIL for Grades K-2
Soil is important because it feeds us! Donʻt treat your Soil like Dirt! Soil is made up of minerals, water, air and organic matter. Letʻs learn about how we can support our soil.
SOIL for Grades 3-5
Soil is the heart of what we eat. Learn about soil, compost, the food web and erosion.
SOIL for Grades 6-8
Soil is the foundation for everything that grows and everything we eat. This course for grades 6-8 goes into the ecosystem of soil and how we improve it and our planet.
PLANT SCIENCE for Grades K-2

PLANT SCIENCE for Grades 3-5
Letʻs learn about plants! What are the parts of the plants? What varieties of plants are there? What is a plantʻs lifecycle and how are pollinators so important.
PLANT SCIENCE for Grades 6-8
We learn so much science by understanding the plants, their life cyles, photosynthesis and pollinators.
Our Goals
Incorporate what makes Hawaiʻi unique, including growing techniques, soil, native plants and canoe crops, and Hawaiian values and culture.
Give students, whether at home, in a classroom or a school garden setting, great activities that reinforce the importance of knowing about where our food comes from and regenerative agriculture. We encourage outdoor activities.

Login FAQ
I forgot my password, can you reset for me? Please use the “I forgot my password” on the login page. It is all automated and we donʻt know your password. If needed, send a note to support and our support staff can reset for you however that may take up to 24 hours.
Change Your Password
To change your password, mouse-over the top right area where it says “Howdy, Your Name”. Select Edit Profile. You’ll be taken to a page where about 2/3 down you can reset your password. Make sure to “Save Profile” at the bottom. Then select your browser back button to go back to the page you were on.
Registration FAQ
You need to register using this form. It will take up to 15 minutes for you to get email confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation within that time, please send a note to support and weʻll take care of you as soon as possible.
If you want to enroll all your students, send a list of emails using the support form to right, and weʻll enroll them within 24 hours. You and each student will receive an email confirmation. Note: For Kit activities, students do not need to register.
