Our Calendar
This Month:
October 12 – Kumu Mea Kanu Kit Assembly Day
From 9am till tasks are completed, come help assemble the key components to our Kumu Mea Kanu Grow Kits, which include bundles of pencils and chopsticks, soil, seeds, and journals. It is a wonderful way to help get these educational tools to students across the island! Email volunteer@growsomegood.org to RSVP.
October 14 – Kumu Mea Kanu Kit Delivery Day
We need one volunteer to ride along with our Kumu Kit Coordinator, Jasmine Wray, on Monday morning to deliver all the kits to schools across the island. Meeting location will be the Montessori School of Maui and end at UHaul in Kahului. The task does involve some heavy lifting. Email volunteer@growsomegood.org to RSVP.
October 19 – Gardens of Growth Event
GRaCE (Gardens as Resilience and Climate Education) Hawai’i Farm to ECE is hosting an event for Maui based Early Childcare and Education providers, their families, and the community. We need two volunteers to help with the cooking part of the event. If you are interested, please click below to email havilah@growsomegood.org.
October 25 – Wailuku Elementary Garden Workday
Join our Wailuku Elementary Garden Coordinator, Alexis Kageyama, for an afternoon in their māla, from 2:30 to 4:30pm. There will be general garden maintenance tasks and small projects. RSVP by clicking here.
October 26 – IMUA Discovery Garden Halloween Keiki Festival
For the past few years, we have enjoyed having a booth at the IMUA Discovery Garden Halloween Keiki Festival! We dress up as vegetables, pass out seeds, and talk about the organization. We would love to have volunteers help get materials from storage unit, set-up the booth, assist with activities, break-down the booth, and get materials back into storage. The shift is roughly 3pm-7pm – please email volunteer@growsomegood.org more details.
